Microsoft 365
Brand Evolution Video
Throughout its lifetime, how people use Microsoft Office has evolved to be less… officey. The apps are increasingly used outside of work to support people's daily lives, and Microsoft felt that it was time for the brand to evolve with the customers.
Working with the great folk at Ranger & Fox, I primarily focused on design and animation, developing the look and feel, as Microsoft was still evolving the 365 brand.
Microsoft Office officially became Microsoft 365, featuring the same apps everyone uses daily, wrapped in a unified look. They asked us to create a video that helped introduce the new Microsoft 365 and showcased the beauty of the updated product.
We devised a narrative about planning a birthday party using Microsoft 365 and then focused on vignettes of the different products that you would have at your disposal. The direction was to capture the beauty and excitement of the product, allowing us to have a bit of fun with each moment and come up with unique ways of showcasing the UI.
Process
We started this project before the Microsoft 365 brand team finalized the product’s look and feel, so our process evolved in real-time with the brand. Some of our early explorations lived in a moodier, more purple space until we eventually aligned with the new branding, bringing them into the bright, colorful world of the final video.
